Who We Are

Players Theatre Company is a not-for-profit, non-denominational amateur theatre group based in Oakleigh East, Victoria. Since our humble beginnings as the Holy Family Players in 1982, we have grown into a vibrant community organisation dedicated to producing quality musicals and fostering the development of young people through theatre.

We specialise in youth musicals for children aged 8–18, providing a fun, supportive environment led by a qualified production team. Our shows build confidence, self-esteem, resilience, and lifelong friendships. Casts work together with commitment and teamwork to create exceptional performances that entertain families across the City of Monash and surrounding areas.

Players Theatre Company welcomes members from all backgrounds and identities. We encourage family involvement and offer opportunities for everyone to participate, both on stage and behind the scenes.

Community & Events

Each year, our cast attends the Junior Theatre Festival in Newcastle and the Junior Theatre Celebration at Bunjil Place in Narre Warren. These events are exciting opportunities to meet other musical-loving students from across Australia and the world, and to participate in workshops run by professional musical theatre performers.

We also love performing at community events, including Monash Carols by Candlelight, Clayton Festival, Oakleigh Christmas Carols, the Monash Arts Expo, Casey Relay for Life, and special performances for Monash Children’s Hospital Book Week. Fundraising activities such as trivia nights and Bunnings BBQs help support our productions and keep our group thriving.
